Well it has been a bit since I've last posted. Here is an update on we are doing in the English class in 3rd grade dual immersion.
The new reading program, Reading Street, has been such a great joy and tool to use regarding reading instruction. So far we have read 8 great stories, learning new vocabulary, spelling patterns, and learning new reading comprehension skills. I see every student working very hard and participating when, whether it being with the whole class, small table groups, or just talking with their elbow partner.
My English classes will be working on studying out singing lines for the Dual Immersion program that we will be having November 14-16. Please be sure that your student studies the words to the songs each night, both in English and Spanish, and studies and memorizes their speaking part if they have one.
I appreciate all of your patience with me as teacher, as I am very new in teaching 3rd grade, and the reading program is taking some to get adjusted to. Every student is amazing and always brings such great positive energy into the learning environment. I enjoy having the opportunity to teach these students on a daily basis, they truly fill my bucket!
